SURGERY BENEFITS

IMPROVEMENT OR HEALING OF DISEASES ASSOCIATED WITH OBESITY

Morbid obesity could be the cause of most of the previously mentioned diseases.

Morbid obesity treatment, results in a major improvement and in some cases the complete healing of those diseases.

Around 80 to 90% of the patients who have been taking medication to control their problems previous to surgery, experience the satisfaction of lowering the dose and in some cases even stop taking it.

In the cases of diabetes associated with morbid obesity the result is dramatic.  Reaching a minimum percentage of weight loss, reduces or eliminates the necessity to take medications or to apply insulin, since the blood glucose level is controlled again by the normal body mechanisms.

An additional benefit as a result of the absence of obesity, is the lowering of the cholesterol levels, which in turn significantly reduces the heart disease risk.

In general, improvement is obtained in 100% of the diseases associated with obesity and complete healing is obtained in approximately 80% of them.
